1. AQHF Arizona Quarter Horse Youth Scholarship Program

The American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) foundation provides financial aid to students who are current members of the AQHA or the American Quarter Horse Foundation (AQHF) and are residents of Arizona. The AQHF Youth Scholarship is a four-year $8,000 scholarship for undergraduate students. Applicants must have completed at least three years of cumulative membership within the organization, have an affinity for the organization and its goals related to the American Quarter Horse, must have leadership abilities and have sustained a high enough grade point average to earn a spot within the top twenty-five percent of their high school graduating class. Students must apply for this scholarship during their senior year of high school for eligibility consideration. Last, students who receive this scholarship must maintain a 2.5 grade point average throughout their college career.

2. Arizona Academic Decathlon Scholarship

The Arizona Academic Decathlon Association (AADA) provides scholarships to top performing decathletes and members of winning teams each year. However, only three Arizona Universities offer this scholarship: Arizona State University, University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. The AADA selects the students they believe deserve the scholarships each year.

Arizona State University (ASU) provides a $2,000 yearly scholarship for three years ($8,000 for a four-years) to nine members of the first place regional decathlon team. ASU also provides another $2,000 yearly scholarship for three years to Top Scoring Students in each region (for those students who were not members of a winning team). ASU also has a third scholarship that is a one-time $500 cash award for all students that competed on a team for two years. This scholarship requires an application by ASU.

The University of Arizona (UA) provides a $3,000 yearly scholarship for three years ($12,000 for a four-years) to nine members of the first place regional decathlon team. The UA also provides another $3,000 yearly scholarship for three years to Top Scoring Students in each region (for those students who were not members of a winning team).

Northern Arizona University (NAU) provides a $1,750 yearly scholarship for three years ($7,000 for a four-years) to nine members of the first place regional decathlon team. The UA also provides another $1,750 yearly scholarship for three years to Top Scoring Students in each region (for those students who were not members of a winning team).

3. Arizona Business & Professional Women's Foundation Scholarships

The Arizona Business and Professional Women's Foundation (BPW/AZ Foundation) provides scholarships to those women who are going back to school in an effort to advance their careers through education. The BPW/AZ Foundation provides scholarships, through four different scholarship opportunities, to women over the age of twenty-five who are returning to school . The Foundation Scholarships are awarded to eligible women attending a community college in Arizona. The Dr. Dorine Chancellor Endowment scholarship is awarded to those eligible women attending a community college as well, but with priority given to those women attending Eastern Arizona College at Thatcher, Arizona campus. The Crowell Endowment Scholarships are awarded to eligible women attending community colleges in Maricopa County. Last, the Muriel Lothrop-Ely Endowment scholarships are awarded to eligible women at all Arizona communicating colleges. All students must apply for these scholarships with letters of recommendation and a brief biography.

4. Arizona CPA Foundation High School Scholarship

The Arizona CPA Foundation for Education and Innovation provides scholarships to students who strive for a career as a CPA. The students selected must have high academic standards, be involved in their community and have leadership potential. The High School Scholarship available is up to six monetary installments in the amount of $500. Students must enroll into an Arizona University or Arizona Community College following high school graduation, designate his or her degree in Accounting, be a legal U.S. citizen and resident of Arizona, and complete the application as required by the deadline.

5. Arizona Nurses Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: March 1 and October 1

The Arizona Nurses Foundation (AzNF) supports scientific and educational activities for the nursing profession. The AzNF Scholarship Program helps advance Arizona nurses by providing scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in a nursing program within the State of Arizona. A student must be enrolled part-time or full-time into the nursing program of their choice with a history of leadership skills, a commitment to the program, and a need for financial assistance. Graduate students who want to teach will be provided priority for these scholarships because of their advocacy to continuing the profession and advancing others. The amount of the scholarship is not set, and the final determination comes from the Council of Trustees of the Arizona Nurses Foundation.

6. Arizona Private Postsecondary Education Student Financial Assistance Program (PFAP)

The Arizona PFAP is designed specifically for those students who have graduated from an Arizona Community College who need financial help to attend a postsecondary university. The PFAP helps encourage students to attend a baccalaureate degree university within Arizona by providing financial assistance on a need-based grant design. The grant provides a student $2,000 per year for two years to help ensure they obtain their educational goals. Some qualifications include being an Arizona resident, a U.S. citizen, a graduate of an Arizona community college, attend an Arizona baccalaureate degree insinuation, a full-time student, financial need determinate based on FASFA, and maintain satisfactory grades throughout their educational career at the university.

7. New American University Scholarship - Regents High Honors Endorsement Scholarship (RHHE)

The New American University Scholarship - RHHE - is a merit-scholarship provided to students attending Arizona State University. The RHHE is also available at the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University. The scholarship is awarded to freshman students with outstanding academic status while in high school and a registered full-time student with a competitive grade point average. The scholarship award is twenty-five percent (25%) of the resident tuition amount.

8. ASTA Arizona Scholarship

The American Society of Travel Agents Foundation provides a scholarship for those students enrolled in a travel-and-tourism related program at a two- or four-year university in Arizona. The foundation requires that the student be a U.S. citizen, a part-time or full-time student with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Students enrolled in a two-year program must also be entering into their second year in the program during the fall semester before they apply. At the end of the Fall term they would have combined total of 30 credit hours in the program. Students enrolled in a four-year program must also be entering into their junior or senior year with a combined total of 60 or 90 credits at the end of the Fall term. Scholarships are awarded yearly in the amount of $2,000.00.

9. AWS John C. Lincoln Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: February 15

The AWS Foundation provides the John C. Lincoln Memorial Scholarship for those students interested in welding engineering. This is awarded to students pursuing a four-year degree in welding engineering (WE) or welding engineer technology (WET), with priority to those students receiving a WE degree in Arizona. Students applying who are residents of Arizona or Ohio will receive priority. Other requirements include being a U.S. citizen, being at least eighteen years old, have a high school diploma, a minimum 2.5 grade point average, enrolled in a part-time or full-time capacity, and possess a financial need. The application will be choose by the Named Scholarship Selection Committee in February of each year. The scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $3,500.

10. Blackburn.edu Arizona Scholarship Fund

The Blackburn.edu Arizona Scholarship Fund is provided to an Arizona resident who is an undergraduate or graduate student at Blackburn College as a full-time student. The recipient must have a financial need with a completed FASFA application submitted. The scholarship award will vary each year as will the amount of students who will receive the scholarships.

11. Colonel Leonard R. Dykes Scholarship

The Colonel Leonard R. Dykes Scholarship is provided to students who are undergraduates attending Arizona State University full-time and are obtaining a degree in the field of Military Science. Students must be joining the Army ROTC, be a U.S. citizen, be between the ages of 17 - 26, possess a grade point average of 2.5 with a high school diploma, have scored at least 920 on the SAT, meet the physical standards for the Army, and commit serve in the Army on Active Duty or in the Army Reserves. The commitment is eight (8) years of service with the Army (four years full time Army and four years Individual Ready Reserve (IRR)).

12. Colorado College Scholars Scholarships

The Colorado College Scholars Scholarship is provided to students who reside in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma or Texas and who are in their first year of undergraduate studies at Colorado College on a full-time basis. A financial need should be demonstrated by the student proving that the family's adjusted gross income is less than $150,000. During the application process students must submit their parent's federal 1040 tax return to the financial aid office. All applicants selected must be academically satisfactory and will participate in an interview at the college if selected as a finalist. The Colorado College Scholars Scholarship award amount is $50,000 for four years ($12,500 per year).

13. Desert Southwest United Methodist Foundation Scholarship (B)

Deadline: June 30 and December 31 of Each Year

The Desert Southwest United Methodist Foundation (DSUMF) Scholarship is specific to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at a post-secondary college that is a United Methodist approved seminary or school of religion, or a university that is located in Nevada, Arizona, or California (annual conference boundaries), or a student dedicated to major in the field of Elementary Education. 14. Dorothy M. Freeman Fine Arts Scholarship

The Dorothy M. Freeman Fine Arts Scholarship is provided to students who are currently registered as juniors or seniors at the University of Arizona enrolled in the College of Fine Arts. 15. EMU National Scholars Program

Deadline: June 1 of Each Year

The Eastern Michigan University (EMU) National Scholars Program is available for out-of-state students who do not live in Michigan or Ohio. The goal of the program is to pay the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition. The requirements for eligibility include a 2.75 grade point average during high school, a score of 20 or higher on the ACT or a score of 950 or higher on the SAT, enrolled in 15 hours per semester, and maintain a 3.0 EMU grade point average. Transfer students may also apply with the same requirements, but those students must have a 3.5 grade point average upon transferring. New freshman who are awarded the scholarship must live in university housing for their first two years of college. The EMU National Scholar Programs award amount is $15,000 for four years.

16. Flinn Foundation Scholarships

The Flinn Foundation is a philanthropic grant organization that is dedicated to encouraging and improving the quality of life in Arizona for future generations. The Foundation provides twenty (20) scholarships a year to Arizona's top students in the amount of $100,000 for each student. The scholarship includes free tuition, room and board monies, mentorship, and a fellowship in the community of current and alumni scholars. The Flinn Foundation Scholarship is available at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and The University of Kansas. The scholarships are awarded to students who are U.S citizens, an Arizona resident, possess a score of 29 or higher on the ACT or 1300 or higher on the SAT 1, have a 3.5 grade point average, rank within the top five (5) percent of their class, and have excellent leadership abilities.

17. Heidelberg College Out of State Grant

The Heidelberg College Out of State Grant is for students who will be attending Heidelberg College and are not a resident of Ohio. The scholarship is available for new incoming freshman or transfer students. Students must maintain a satisfactory grade point average during the years of award receipt. 18. Italian Catholic Federation Scholarships

The Italian Catholic Federation (ICF) is an organization for Catholics from all cultures. The ICF provides scholarship opportunities in an effort to promote the Italian Catholic heritage. Scholarships are awarded to students who have a 3.2 grade point average and are Roman Catholic and of Italian descent who live in Arizona, California, Nevada or Illinois; or those who are Roman Catholic but are not of Italian decent, if a parent, guardian or grandparents of Italian descent. An applicant must also have a financial need, promote leadership abilities, include recommendations, have extracurricular activities or other outside efforts, and have a family membership in the ICF (as applicable above). Scholarships provided are in the amount of $400 to first year scholarships (roughly 200 applicants will receive this award). These applicants may also be eligible for a second, third and fourth year scholarship in the amount of $500, $600, and $1,000.

19. Korean American Scholarship Foundation - Western Region

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) provides scholarships to those students who are of Korean-American-descent who also have a financial need, have demonstrated scholastic achievement, have recommendations, have written an essay and have also participated in extracurricular activities. The students must have a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average, be a full-time student, and plan on attending school in the western region. The KASF has three different scholarship types: Chair, Designated and General. The Chair Scholarship provides a $1,000 award to one qualified student. The Designated Scholarship provides an award of $1,000 or more to a number of students. Lastly, the General Scholarship award amount is dependent on the various fundraising activities, donations, etc.

20. MGMA Western Section Scholarship

The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Western Section Scholarship is sponsored by the American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) whose purpose is to promote healthcare leadership and professional growth by providing scholarship opportunities to students interested in medical practice management. The Project Management Institute (PMI) Educational Foundation scholarship and award goals are to support the development and future of project management. 22. Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute Scholarships

The Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute (RMCMI) provides several scholarship opportunities in an effort to help students who want to continue their education in engineering/geology or another technical program that is relevant. The RMCMI provides eight (8) scholarships to students enrolled in a four-year program for Engineering/Geology, a resident of one of the eight member states (Arizona being one of them), and pursuing a career in the coal industry. The scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $2,750 (up to two (2) years). 23. Tucson Music Teachers Association Scholarships

The Tucson Music Teachers Association provides scholarships for those students interested in music as a career. This is awarded to students pursuing a four-year degree in a music related program. Students applying must submit a one-page essay describing their past musical study involvement and musical accomplishments, why they are majoring in music and their career goals. 24. Dorrance Scholarship Programs

Through the Arizona Community Foundation, the Dorrance Family Foundation has been providing scholarships for students with limited means since 1999. The program has grown so much over the years that now four separate scholarships are awarded to 25 recipients each year. Scholarships are awarded in amounts upwards of $10,000. Applicants must be first generation college students who have graduated from an Arizona high school with a GPA of at least 3.0. They must have been accepted at one of the major three public universities in Arizona or South Mountain Community College.

 25. Servant Leader Scholarship

Deadline: February 1

At Arizona Christian University, students who have demonstrated leadership through service to another person or group of people are eligible to receive the Servant Leader Scholarship which provides full tuition to recipients. The guidelines are modeled after a passage in the Bible (Matthew 20:26-28) which describes the servant leadership of Jesus Christ. Applicants must have graduated from high school with a GPA of 3.75 or higher and will have to participate in an interview prior to selection. Maintaining the scholarship requires attending weekly meetings, participating in weekly service requirements, and attending annual leadership training and retreats.
