As an air marshal, you will spend a total of about six months out of the year flying; this equates to roughly 5 hours a day on average. Blood Spatter Analyst
One of the most specialized criminal investigation careers is that of a blood spatter analyst. Though the entry barrier for the career requires a highly specific skill set, there is always a need for more who specialize in it. As a blood spatter analyst, you will fulfill a valuable niche in the process of homicide and violent crime investigations. Any residual blood left at the scene of the crime, whether it’s a large amount or just a small trail, can be collected and analyzed. You will likely use a combination of photographic evidence and ultraviolet light to create an accurate recreation of the spatter in a laboratory setting.
Computer Forensics Investigator
Computer forensics has been one of the fastest growing areas in the law enforcement field. As a computer forensics investigator, your task will be to discover and describe the information held within digital artifacts. Everything from thumb drives to confiscated computers can potentially contain valuable information that leads to the resolution of a case. The need for seasoned digital investigators extends to a wide variety of different industries such as financial institutions, law firms and government branches. As long as an organization makes use of a computerized system in order to operate, then there is value in having a computer forensics investigator’s services.
As an FBI agent, you will play a vital role in federal law enforcement and terrorism defense. There are over 200 areas of federal law that FBI agents actively work to investigate and enforce. The tasks that you conduct in federal law enforcement include things such as wire surveillance, trafficking raids and long-term undercover investigations.
