2. Alice C. Coapland Scholarships

Annually, the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) presents two Alice C. Coapland Scholarships for $2,000 apiece to female residents of northeastern Vermont who have significant financial need for support in pursuing their studies in higher education full-time. 3. Betsy Hiser Memorial Nutrition Scholarship

Deadline: March 1st

In remembrance of a nationally recognized dietitian who was the founding nutrition editor for Eating Well magazine, the Betsy Hiser Memorial Nutrition Scholarship is granted annually through the Vermont Dietetic Association to a registered dietitian pursuing further graduate studies in order to enhance their professional standing. 4. Carol A. Hurley Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VASC) in honor of a former outreach counselor, the Carol A. Hurley Memorial Scholarship provides $1,000 annually to a college-bound graduating high school senior in Vermont who will be the first generation in their families to attend post-secondary education. 5. Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarships

Deadline: May 1st

Each year, the Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) Auxiliary awards up to ten college scholarships for $2,500 apiece to students residing in the central region of Vermont who have been accepted into an accredited institution for study in dental hygiene, pharmacy, physical/occupational therapy, practical nursing, registered nursing, or radiology. While preference is given to employees working at the medical center, high school seniors and college students going into the medical field are also welcome to apply.

6. Dr. Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service

With the goal of honoring the long-time Lamoille South Supervisory Union Superintendent and her outstanding contributions to public education, the Vermont Superintendents Association (VSA) offers the Dr. Alice Angney Scholarship for Leadership and Service each year for $2,000. 7. Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship

Through the Vermont Department for Children and Families (DCF), the Emily Lester Vermont Opportunity Scholarship is awarded annually for up to $3,000 to individuals from 18 to 24 years old who were in the state's foster care system for at least six months between the ages of 16 and 18. 8. Erwin Bugbee Memorial Scholarship

For $1,000 in tuition assistance, the Erwin Bugbee Memorial Scholarship is granted by the Vermont Police Association (VPA) each year to qualified Vermont high school seniors who will be attending an accredited post-secondary institution or current undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited degree program. Established by the Vermont Philharmonic Resident Orchestra of the Barre Opera House, the Jon Borowicz Memorial Student Music Scholarship provides $500 to outstanding Vermont high school seniors who participate at least weekly in a state music program.
