In determining the order of this ranking, we awarded points based on quality of course curriculum as it relates to the job market (1-5 point range), accolades or other noted recognition by education publications (1-4 point range), faculty expertise with terminal degrees in the field (1-4 points), affordability and return-on-investment (1-3 points), graduate, fellowship, or other tuition assistance opportunities (1-3 points), career assistance (1-4) points). An additional point was awarded for features of particular distinction. In the event of a tie in points, the school with the lower tuition is ranked higher.
