Named after the North Dakota oil pioneer who became the first member of the North Dakota Petroleum Council's Hall of Fame, the Al Golden Memorial Scholarship Fund presents $2,000 annually to a deserving undergraduate student who is pursing post-secondary education in geology, engineering, processing plant technology, or science to gain the technical skills needed for the oil and gas industry. 2. Alva J. Field Memorial Trust Education Scholarships

Deadline: November and April 1st

In honor of an accomplished real estate and insurance businessman, the Alva J. Field Memorial Trust Education Scholarships provide up to $3,000 in tuition assistance each semester to graduating high school seniors as well as vocational certificate, associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree students from Williams County. Applicants must be of good moral character, have an earnest desire for a college education, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or better.

3. Amy Svihovec Memorial College Scholarships

Deadline: June 6th

Administered through the North Dakota Association of Counties (NDACO), the Amy Svihovec Memorial College Scholarships are granted for $1,500 for children and grandchildren of county employees who are between the ages of 17 and 22. Since scholarships cannot be awarded to all qualified applicants, four recipients will be chosen annually based on community service, personal/professional achievements, leadership potential, and academic performance.

4. Bismarck-Mandan Scholarships for People with Disabilities

Deadline: April 30th

With the goal of establishing a receptive climate for the involvement of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of community life, the Bismarck-Mandan Mayor's Committee awards two annual Scholarships for People with Disabilities for $500 apiece as financial assistance for attending a college, university, vocational training, or other post-secondary training organization in North Dakota. Applicants must have documentation for a qualifying physical or mental disability, be graduating from a Bismarck or Mandan school, and be in good academic standing.

5. Cass County Electric Cooperative Lineworkers Scholarship

Deadline: May 5th

For individuals who reside within the boundaries of the Cass County Electric service territory, the Cass County Electric Cooperative Lineworkers Scholarship was established in 1998 as part of the Willard Grager Year of the Lineman Award to provide $1,000 in financial support for post-secondary education. Qualified candidates must be pursuing an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree and/or Electrical Line Worker Certificate from a two-year North Dakota college.

6. Donald B. Sass Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 1st

In memory of a noted community leader who was posthumously named "Landman of the Year" by the Landman's Association of North Dakota in 1984, the Donald B. Sass Memorial Scholarship is offered through the North Dakota Community Foundation (NDCF) for $2,000 to upper-class undergraduate students aspiring for a career in the oil and gas industry. Applicants must be majoring in petroleum land management, petroleum engineering, geology, geological engineering, or chemical engineering at a four-year North Dakota institution.

7. Emma Skogen Scholarship for the Visually Impaired

Deadline: March 15th

Through the North Dakota Association of the Blind (NDAB), the Emma Skogen Scholarship is granted annually for $1,000 to three residents of North Dakota who are visually impaired and demonstrate financial need for tuition assistance in attending one of the vocational or trade schools within the state. 8. Esther Hample Scholarship Fund

Deadline: June 1st

Established by the Bismarck-Mandan Business and Professional Women's Club (BPW) in honor of the "Woman of the Year" in 1960, the Esther Hample Scholarship Fund is designed to provide $1,200 to female undergraduate students who graduated from a Bismarck or Mandan high school before enrolling in any U.S. higher learning institution. Applicants must be at least 20 years old, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate critical financial need, and submit two typed professional letters of reference.

9. Fred Martin Great Character Scholarship Program

At North Dakota State University, the Fred Martin Great Character Scholarship Program is presented annually to a full-time male student who has pledged to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and exhibits extraordinary personal character. The American Legion Department of North Dakota awards the Hattie K. 12. Jan Jordan Memorial Scholarship Fund

Annually, the Municipal Government Academy utilizes the Jan Jordan Memorial Scholarship Fund to award two $1,000 college scholarships to outstanding students in North Dakota between the ages of 17 and 22 years old who are the children or grandchildren of a city employee and/or elected city official. As a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations, the North Dakota Chapter of P.E.O. International has established the $1,000 Jane A. Taylor North Dakota Scholarship for female residents who are attending a state university. 14. Kathy Ohly Memorial Scholarship Fund

In memory of a dedicated physician assistant who served as an inspiration and role model to the profession for decades before losing her fight with breast cancer, the Kathy Ohly Memorial Scholarship Fund is presented by the North Dakota Academy of Physician Assistants (NDAPA) for up to $1,500 annually. 15. Liudahl Scholarship for Fish and Wildlife Management

Sponsored by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department in honor of Ronald D. Liudahl who co-founded the Dakota Anglers, the Liudahl Scholarship is designed to provide up to $2,000 for North Dakota residents who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program related to wildlife management, fisheries biology, natural resources management, or wildlife biology. 16. Mary Cripps Memorial Special Education Scholarship

Deadline: March 15th

For student members and dependents of members of the North Dakota United, the Mary Cripps Memorial Special Education Scholarship is available annually to provide $500 to undergraduate and graduate students in North Dakota who are pursuing initial or advanced certification training in special education. 17. North Dakota Academic Scholars Program

Deadline: June 6th

In order to reward high school students for ranking in the upper fifth percentile of their graduating class in preparation for attending an accredited North Dakota public, private, or tribal college, the North Dakota Academic Scholars Program provides $6,000 four-year scholarships. Candidates must have achieved a composite score or 24 or better on the ACT, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and be enrolled full-time in at least 15 credits each semester.

18. North Dakota Career and Technical Education Scholarships

With the goal of encouraging and recognizing deserving high school seniors for taking challenging career-oriented coursework, the North Dakota Career and Technical Education Scholarships offer up to $6,000 for four years of undergraduate studies at any accredited public college, private university, or tribal college in the state. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater, enroll full-time with at least 12 credits each semester, and have achieved three 5s on the WorkKeys assessments.

19. North Dakota State Indian Scholarships

Deadline: June 6th

Based on academic ability and financial need for tuition assistance, the North Dakota Legislative Assembly will award between 150 and 175 North Dakota State Indian Scholarships each academic year that range in value from $800 to $2,000. Qualified applicants must be legal North Dakota residents, be enrolled members of a federally or state-recognized Indian tribe, and be enrolled full-time in an accredited institution of higher learning or state vocational program.

20. Patrick Kenne Scholarship in Rural Water Technology

Through the North Dakota Rural Water Systems Association (NDRWSA), the Patrick Kenne Scholarship in Rural Water Technology is open to any students who receive their water from a rural water system in North Dakota as well as students who are enrolled in an accredited post-secondary rural water technology course. Established in appreciation of the many years she faithfully published for the successful snowmobile newspaper SNO-DAK News, the Snowmobile North Dakota - Rhode Greenup Scholarship is granted each year for $1,000 as financial assistance to graduating high school seniors and college students attending higher education in the state. As North Dakota's largest healthcare provider and one of the leaders in medical education, the Trinity Health Foundation offers many nursing scholarships annually for students who have been accepted into an accredited nursing program leading to LPN, ADRN, or BSN status.
