1. Anthony S. Santaro AGC Scholarship Program

Deadline: May 15th

Sponsored by the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Anthony S. Santaro Scholarship Program offers up to 20 awards annually for $2,500 each to second, third, and fourth-year undergraduate students who are pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in construction technology, construction management, or civil engineering. Qualified candidates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, be enrolled full-time at a New York-based institution, and be pursuing a career in the building and/or highway construction industry.

2. Bob Allen New York Amateur Hockey Scholarships

Deadline: April 1st

Established in 2000 by the New York State Amateur Hockey Association in honor of its long-time President and Director Emeritus, the Bob Allen Scholarships provide $1,000 annually to graduating high school or prep school seniors who participate in the association by playing hockey for their school, community, or youth sports club. Along with the application, candidates must submit verification of enrollment in a New York college, a sealed official transcript, and three letters of recommendation.

3. Carol Ely Student Scholarship Fund

Deadline: March 10th

In memory of the beloved president for the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children (NYSAEYC), the Carol Ely Student Scholarship Fund is designed to promote excellence in early childcare and education services statewide. As financial aid for professional development to provide care for young children, the program is open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited early childhood education program in New York.

4. Debbie J. Tranello Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 31st

With the mission of financially assisting individuals who wish to pursue post-secondary education in pursuit of a career in the automotive parts management industry, the New York State Automotive Aftermarket Association offers the Debbie J. Tranello Memorial Scholarship. Eligible applicants must be New York State residents, be enrolled full-time in an associate's degree program in the automotive industry, and be current NYSAAA members in good standing.

5. Dorothy Strayer-Priemer New York Music Award

Deadline: January 24th

Each year, the Dorothy Strayer-Priemer New York Music Award is made available by the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) of Amsterdam for $1,000 to residents of New York State who are entering their junior or senior year of college with a major related to the music field. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a music instructor, current college transcript, short personal essay, and a CD copy of two voice or instrument pieces.

6. Edward "Ned" Carter Memorial Scholarships

Deadline: March 1st

The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York offers four Edward "Ned" Carter Memorial Scholarships for $1,500 apiece to graduating high school seniors from across New York who are related to a firefighter, are a firefighter, or are an explorer in a fire department in the state. In keeping with the past president's dedication to helping others, the scholarships are presented to students who will be pursuing a career in a community service, including fire service, nursing, social work, and teaching.

7. Empire State Potato Growers Inc. Scholarship

Deadline: January 15th

For New York residents who are pursuing an agricultural-related area of undergraduate studies, the Empire State Potato Growers Inc. has established a $500 annual scholarship specifically for those majoring in agricultural engineering, agronomy, crop and soil sciences, entomology, food sciences, horticulture, plant pathology, or agricultural economics. Applicants must provide an essay on ambitions in agricultural, list of extra-curricular activities demonstrating leadership qualities, an official grade transcript, and two letters of reference.

8. Excellence in Accounting Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: April 1st

Presented by the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), the Excellence in Accounting Foundation Scholarships offer up to $2,500 annually for state residents who have enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate accounting program at a four-year institution within New York. Eligible candidates must be U.S. citizens, have completed a minimum of 72 credit hours, be enrolled for at least 12 semester credits, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

9. Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarships

Deadline: June 30th

Administered through the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), the Flight 3407 Memorial Scholarships cover the cost of attending a public college in-state for children, spouses, and financial dependents of individuals killed as a direct result of the crash of Continental Airlines Flight 3407 in Clarence in 2009. Students must have graduated from a U.S. high school, be enrolled full-time, and be in good academic standing in an approved program.

10. International House Performing Artists in Residence Scholarship

Deadline: June 6th

Annually, the International House presents the Performing Artists in Residence Scholarship for $5,000 to three musicians, actors, or dancers applying to live at the I-House for the first time who are pursuing graduate studies in performing arts in New York City. Selection is based on demonstrated financial need, fields of study, academic performance, artistic talent, and applicants' interest in contributing to the community through participation in its programs.

11. John A. Maderer Memorial Scholarship Fund

Deadline: June 1st

In honor of a beloved steamfitter in Western New York for over four decades who passed away at the age of 70 on Thanksgiving Day from asbestos-related lung cancer, the John A. Maderer Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to ambitious graduating high school seniors in Alden, Batavia, West Seneca, and Orchard Park. Preference will be given to full-time students who are in danger of falling into the financial gaps within the federal and state financial aid system.

12. Joseph T. Weingold Memorial Scholarship

In memory of the first executive director of the NYSARC who pioneered policy in New York to significantly shape national policy on developmental disabilities, the Joseph T. Weingold Memorial Scholarship is presented annually for $3,000 to two full-time students enrolled in a degree program leading to special education certification at a New York university. 13. Kerry D. Marsh Annual Scholarship Program

Sponsored by the New York State Restaurant Association in honor of the outstanding man who served as General Counselor for 40 years, the Kerry D. 14. Margaret Raley New York State Migrant Student Scholarship

Deadline: April 15th

At the Geneseo Migrant Center, the Margaret Raley New York State Migrant Student Scholarship is available for $500 to recognize the educational achievements of migrant farm-worker students with a history of migration to and/or within New York. While preference will be given to graduating high school seniors from Columbia County, all members of the migrant community with a caring attitude towards others are eligible to apply for funding.

15. May C. Randazzo Memorial Scholarship

In honor of a beloved public relations manager who died after a brief illness at the age of 57, the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) awards the May C. Randazzo Memorial Scholarship annually to junior or senior-level students majoring in public relations or communications at a western New York university. 16. Myself Third: Spirit of New York Scholarships

In order to promote the ideals of service and honor college-bound students who engage in ongoing volunteerism, the Myself Third: Spirit of New York Scholarships are granted for $5,000 to graduating high school seniors who will be enrolling full-time at any of the 17 undergraduate colleges in the City University of New York (CUNY) system. Candidates must have completed at least 50 hours of service at community-based organizations in the last twelve months to foster civic engagement and/or improve quality of life for community residents.

17. New York State Golf Association Scholarships

Deadline: May 15th

Annually, the New York State Golf Association (NYSGA) awards multiple scholarships for up to $2,000 each to state residents who are currently matriculated in a two or four-year degree program full-time with a major in agronomy, turf grass management, professional golf and country club management, or other golf-related programs of study in the United States. Applicants must submit a short personal essay on personal goals, future career plans, previous work experience, extra-curricular involvement, and what golf means to them.

18. New York State Math and Science Teaching Incentive Scholarship

The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) offers the New York State Math and Science Teaching Incentive Scholarship for up to $5,985 to students who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree to become a secondary (grades 7-12) math and/or science teacher. Eligible candidates must be attending a New York college full-time, have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and sign a contract to fulfill five years of full-time employment as a secondary education math or science teacher upon graduation.

19. Patricia Louise Masotto and Brenda Driscoll Scholarship

20. Ruth Whitney Scholarship from Glamour Magazine

Created by the New York Women in Communications Foundation, the Ruth Whitney Scholarship from Glamour Magazine is presented for $5,000 annually to college students in New York State who have demonstrated an interest in magazine journalism and/or publishing with a declared major in a communications-related field. 21. Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship

With the goal of increasing the number of qualified educators and adjunct clinical faculty members in New York State, the HESC has established the Senator Patricia K. McGee Nursing Faculty Scholarship to provide up to $20,000 to registered nurses enrolled at an accredited master's or doctoral degree program in nursing education. 22. Sonia S. Maguire Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award

The Swiss Benevolent Society of New York (SBSNY) bestows the Sonia S. Maguire Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award annually to graduating college seniors and graduate students who have demonstrated sustained academic excellence within a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher in a demanding study program. Established in 1945 in honor of the outstanding woman who served as National Grange Juvenile Superintendent for more than a decade, the Susan W. For graduating seniors from New York City high schools in any of the five boroughs, the Thomas G. Labrecque Smart Start Scholarship Program offers full-tuition awards to 10 recipients annually to attend Barnard College, Baruch College, Brooklyn College, City College, Columbia University, Fordham University, Long Island University, New York University, Pace University, Polytechnic Institute of New York, St. Francis College, or St. John's University. 25. Valerie Armstrong Memorial Scholarship Fund

Through the Central New York Community Foundation, the Valerie Armstrong Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honor a self-motivated learner who went back to school years later to earn a master's degree and became a math instructor at SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica.
