This scholarship fund was founded in honor of a young student athlete who was killed in an automobile accident. The Southeast Alabama Community Foundation (SACF) accepts applications for this scholarship that has a submission deadline of 1 April annually. Alabama Scholarships For Dependents of Blind Parents are need-based scholarships awarded to Alabama residents whose parents or guardians are blind and claim tax status as head of household. AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship Programs award 40 recipients $850.00 toward the cost of college tuition. The scholarship program is both merit and need based with qualifying applicants holding a minimum grade average of 3.5 and demonstrating financial need. Additionally, applicants must be Alabama residents who are children or grandchildren of those who served in major wars and conflicts dating back to World War I. AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOODSTOCK SCHOLARSHIP CHALLENGE
DEADLINE: January 31
The American Red Cross Bloodstock Scholarship Challenge gives students the opportunity to win a scholarship of up to $2000.00 while gaining valuable leadership skills. Participating students who are at least 16 years old contact the American Red Cross to apply for the student blood drive coordinator position. The student actually plans and coordinates the blood drive and minimally receives a letter of recommendation and a $50.00 gift card for a job well done. The Earl P. Andrews, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is both a merit and need based award given to racial minority applicants who meet the scholarship committee's stringent guidelines. The National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, Inc. Scholarship is awarded to those pursuing graduate level studies for careers working with children. It is never too late to learn, and with the Senior Adult Scholarship Program, Alabama's seniors over the age of 60 years old have the opportunity to return to school to pursue a degree. Many seniors put off getting a college education for various reasons, and now that they are in their twilight years more than a few are on fixed incomes. In Alabama, limited income does not stop seniors from reaching their goals after age 60.
