Peru State College's campus rests along the Missouri river in southeast Nebraska. As a member of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the campus has been nicknamed "Campus of a Thousand Oaks." Peru State is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Accreditation is used to maintain the standards of colleges. HLC accredits post-secondary educational institutions which grant degrees in the North Central region of the United States.

Peru State College Application Requirements

The application process varies whether you are a first year student, transfer, international, or graduate student.

? First Year Students – If you have completed high school and never attended a higher education institution, you may enroll as a first year student. The application process begins with completing the online application. Once you have completed this, you must request high school transcripts. These must be sent directly from your high school to Peru State Office of Admissions. Hand delivered transcripts are not accepted. ACT and/or SAT scores must be submitted to the Office of Admissions as well. Health assessments are only required for students attending on campus.
? Transfer Students – If you have enrolled in or attended another college since high school, you are eligible to apply as a transfer student. The application process begins with completing the online application. Transcripts from your high school and previously attended colleges must be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions. Hand delivered transcripts are not accepted. College transcripts are required whether you completed the credits or not. Health assessments are not required unless you are attending classes on campus.
? International Students – The application process for international students begins by completing an international student application. The next step is to request to have your transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions. You must prove English proficiency either through the Test of English Language as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), English3, International English Language Test System (IELTS), or SAT. You are also required to submit a statement of financial support, a transfer eligibility form, and an International Student Health and Counseling Form.
? Graduate Students – If you have completed a bachelor's program and are interested in getting your master's degree, you must first submit an online application. Next, you must request to have your transcripts transmitted from a regionally-accredited institution. Admission requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Two recommendation forms are required, preferably from a direct supervisor or principal. Recommendations from relatives are not accepted. Finally, you must submit a professional resume.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Peru State College has a "one rate, any state" policy for all students. All undergraduate students pay in-state tuition fees regardless of whether they are attending campus or learning online. Current fees are as follows:

? Undergraduate Students – On-campus tuition is $160 per credit hour. Off-campus tuition is $260 per credit hour.
? Graduate Students – Online tuition is $325 per credit hour. Resident on-campus tuition is $200 per credit hour. Non-resident on-campus tuition is $400 per credit hour.

Additional fees that are required include: a $15 matriculation fee, a $15-$85 per course Lab fee, a $50-$75 graduation fee, a $100 new student weekend fee, and a $25 learning community fee.

Its goal is to see each and every student receive the education they desire. Faculty in the Financial Aid Office are available to guide you through the application process, ensure that the filing goes smoothly, determine which aid is the right fit for you, and assist in getting the maximum amount of aid available for your needs. A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to determine eligibility. There are many types of aid available through government, public, and private agencies.
