The Paul V. Hamilton School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences follows ACJS standards to award a B.S. in Criminology & Criminal Justice to Lincoln Memorial University undergrads called to studying legal theories. Chaired by Dr. MaryAnn Thrush, the 128-credit Harrogate degree integrates courses like American Citizenship, Criminal Procedures, and Introduction to Psychology that average just 13 pupils. Directed by Dr. Anita Black from Avery Hall, the 36-credit program connects active police faculty to post-grads in four tracks: Homeland Security, Juvenile Justice, Rural Criminal Justice, and Victimology. Majors might also join the Alpha Beta Epsilon Chapter, become Lincoln Ambassadors, exchange to Liaocheng University, volunteer with Points of Light, and peruse the DSOL Law Library.

Lincoln Memorial University was founded on February 12, 1897, Abraham Lincoln's 88th birthday, at the former 700-room Four Seasons by Union Army General Oliver O. Howard. After a 1902 fire, the historic Grant-Lee Hall was erected for conservatory-style classes. First accredited in 1936, Lincoln Memorial developed into a private, nonprofit coed liberal arts college. In 1989, the J. Frank White Academy was added for preparatory education in Grades 5-12. Named for Rep. Jimmy Duncan, the School of Law emerged in 2008 for a 77.14 percent Bar exam pass rate since. Lincoln Memorial University Accreditation Details

In January 2019, Lincoln Memorial University will undergo its next self-study evaluation review with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to reaffirm the 10-year Level VI accreditation under its 21st president, Dr. Clayton Hess. Located 4.5 hours south in Decatur, this mid-sized 11-state Appalachia accreditor is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) to assure the quality of LMU's six associate, 30 baccalaureates, 16 master's, and eight doctoral majors. Lincoln Memorial also earned provisional approval from the American Bar Association (ABA) for its Duncan School of Law in 2014.

Lincoln Memorial University Application Requirements

Getting into Lincoln Memorial University is classified "moderately difficult" by Peterson's since just 745 of the 1,484 Fall 2017 applicants were successful for 50 percent acceptance. Regular admission requires first-year Railsplitters to graduate high school with a minimum 3.2 GPA. The B.S. in Criminology & Criminal Justice also considers GED recipients achieving 45 or higher on each subject. Freshmen should score at least 19 on the ACT or 1010 on the SAT combined. Only undergrads who've completed 15+ credits of seated, college-level courses are labeled transfers. These majors must reach the 2.4 GPA standard before B.S. enrollment. Starting the M.S. in Criminal Justice relies on accredited bachelor's receipt with a 2.75 average or better. Prerequisites like Criminology, Policing, Juvenile Justice, and Corrections are suggested.

Lincoln Memorial University has rolling general admission until August 1st for Fall and January 1st for Spring. Tuition and Financial Aid
