FHSU's Virtual College leverages the best of the traditional FHSU admissions activities and staff to make its admissions process as streamlined as possible. The basic admissions steps that new FHSU Virtual College students must take to begin their degree programs include choosing a degree program, applying online, sending transcripts to FHSU's registrar, contacting FHSU about financial aid opportunities and setting up a FHSU student account to enroll in courses. FHSU Virtual College accepts only online applications for admissions throughout the year, and students must meet requirements that are applicable to their academic levels. For instance, undergraduate freshmen who are under 21 years of age must provide proof that they have completed the Kansas Qualified Admissions Pre-College Curriculum. This set of high school level courses in English, math, the natural sciences, the social sciences and approved electives serve to identify students who are ready for college level coursework. In addition to the four units of English and three units of the other noted subjects, these undergraduates must have minimum standardized test scores for the ACT or SAT of 21 or 980 respectively and have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Undergraduate students who are ranked in the top one third of their graduating class are also admitted to FHSU Virtual College. Undergraduate students under the age of 21 who obtained a GED after 2014 must have scored a minimum of 680 to qualify for admission into the FHSU Virtual College. Transfer students must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale to gain entrance into the Virtual College; transfer students under the age of 21 must also meet the school's previously stated entrance requirements for incoming freshmen students. All students who apply to the Virtual College's undergraduate degree programs must pay a $30 application fee. Students who apply to FHSU Virtual College graduate level programs can complete their applications online or submit completed hardcopy forms to the FHSU admissions office. Graduate students must also have letters of recommendation and official undergraduate degree transcripts sent to the FHSU admissions office. The student must have graduated from an accredited undergraduate university, taken at least 60 credit hours of classes and earned a minimum GPA of 2.5 on the last 60 credit hours of courses. Additional requirements for resumes, statements of purpose and copies of professional certifications vary by graduate program. Before an application is processed, a graduate student must submit a $40.00 application fee to the school. International students must meet the applicable academic qualifications for undergraduate and graduate students, and they must also submit proof of English language proficiency to qualify for admission. The application fee for international students is $50.

Undergraduate students who enroll in classes between Fall 2014 and Summer 2015 can expect to pay 186.50 per credit hour. Graduate students pay $251.38 per credit hour for the same enrollment period with the exception of virtual MBA students who pay $400 per credit hour.
