Central Christian College of the Bible Accreditation Details

Central Christian College of the Bible is accredited through the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), which is officially recognized by the Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The Association for Biblical Higher Education is a nationally recognized accrediting body that governs over 200 higher learning institutions that specialize in biblical ministry and professional leadership. The goal of the association is to enhance the educational quality of classes through professional development, transformational academics and collaborative engagements. The association is recognized by the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education, which is affiliated with the of the World Evangelical Alliance. Central Christian College of the Bible Application Requirements

The admissions process begins with an online or paper application that is submitted with the GED or a home school transcript. High school. students must have completed at least six semesters. If the SAT scores are not included in the student's high school transcript, the applicant must request an official score. However, students who have never taken the SAT, are 23 or older or have finished at least 12 transferable credit hours do not have to submit their SAT scores. Applicants must submit two unrelated references, but one must be a ministry reference, such as a teacher, minister or youth leader. A 200-250 word essay must be submitted that explores topics such as servant-leadership and making a difference in the world. The admissions department will send a decision within two weeks of the application.

Central Christian College of the Bible Tuition and Financial Aid

The tuition for on-campus classes is $3,750 per semester. Room and board fees are $3,300 per semester. Online tuition is rated by $275 per credit hour. Central Christian College offers a generous Full-Tuition Scholarship opportunity for students who enroll at the Moberly campus. Each semester, Central Christian College offers 100 Full-Tuition Scholarships to new or transferring students. The scholarship equals the cost of tuition for up to 18.5 credit hours every semester. Students who are not awarded a Full-Tuition Scholarship are eligible for the Central Scholarship that covers 80 percent of the tuition for 18.5 credit hours every semester. Students may also apply for the federal governments' Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and a number of additional of federal aid programs. This includes Pell and FSEOG grants, the Federal Work-Study program and the Federal Direct Student Loan program. Campus employment includes campus jobs and part-time weekend ministry opportunities.

Central Christian College is famous for their comprehensive Biblical Studies degree program that teaches students about key Bible events, passages and characters. Students become familiar with the cultural, historical and geographical contexts of biblical books and people. Students learn the fundamental principles of contextual biblical interpretation that is used to defend the veracity of the Bible and Christianity. The Biblical studies degree presents courses as biography of major events and characters, such as Old Testament poetry and the acts of the Apostles. This degree was designed for currently working servant-leaders who oversee congregations or those working in the ministry who want to achieve a richer understanding of the Bible. A similar degree program, religious studies, also incorporates these classes into the curriculum. Students who learn Biblical Studies are prepared to become religious leaders and teachers. They also have opportunities to study biblical research and learn about ancient languages, scholarly tools and academic writings. Students who pursue a degree in Religious Studies have many academic options available.

The Bachelor of Religious Studies degree requires 33 credits in biblical studies, but 49 credits in professional studies. Notable classes include Christian discipleship, the principles of evangelism and serving in the community. Additional required classes include leadership ministries and biblical leadership. Students also participate in vocational preparation and a leadership apprenticeship. Students who finish a bachelor in religious studies can directly transfer credits to Johnson University's Master of Strategic Ministry degree program. In only one year of time, students can complete a graduate degree in sports, campus, children's and special needs ministry. They can also study church administration and Christian community development. Although they are not in high demand like the bachelor of Biblical Studies, the graduate courses are excellent academic choices for dedicated Christian leadership professionals.

Central Christian College offers plenty of alternative degree options. For example, a bachelor's in Christian counseling teaches students how to identify needs and problems in order to offer appropriate help and resources for people facing challenging situations. Students learn how to carefully apply counseling theories within a biblical worldview. Graduates go on to become camp, church and social service counselors. Common courses include psychology basics, personal assessments, interpersonal communication and basic counseling methods. On the other hand, students who want to become teachers may pursue a degree in Christian Education. This program is designed to help students understand the needs and characteristics of children as well as the standard developmental stages of human growth. Students take classes in educational psychology, teaching techniques and creative leadership. Graduates go on to work in churches, adult education and even private Christian schools as preschool and elementary teachers.
