Houtz Memorial Scholarship Fund offers at least one $3,000 scholarship annually to a well-deserving student who exhibits dedication to both community service and academic excellence. Eligible applicants for the award must be accepted to attend a Maryland public two or four-year institution full-time, possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have participated in at least 200 hours of community service.

2. Charles W. Riley Fire and Emergency Medical Services Tuition Reimbursement Program

Deadline: July 1st

For active career or volunteer firefighters, ambulance, and rescue squad members in Maryland, the Charles W. Riley Fire and Emergency Medical Services Tuition Reimbursement Program reimburses the costs of tuition and academic fees for receiving an undergraduate degree in fire service technology or emergency medical technology. Eligible candidates must serve the Maryland community while taking college courses full-time at a four-year public institution within the University System of Maryland.

3. Chesapeake Urology Associates Scholarships

Deadline: May 31st

Administered at the Central Scholarship Bureau from an endowment by Dr. Sanford Siegel, the Chesapeake Urology Associates Scholarships are designed to provide tuition assistance to full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in pre-medicine, pre-nursing, or other allied health fields in Maryland. Recipients for the three annual scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be selected based on commitment to the medical field, financial need, and academic achievement in relevant coursework.

4. Delegate Scholarship

Granted through the Maryland Higher Education Commission's Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), the Delegate Scholarship is offered to current high school seniors as well as full-time or part-time degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students who are Maryland residents. In order to be considered for the renewable award ranging from $200 to $19,000 each year, candidates with financial need must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment at a two or four-year Maryland institution with at least six credits per semester.

5. Dr. Paul W. Vineyard Scholarship

Sponsored by the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES), the Dr. Paul W. Vineyard Scholarship for $1,000 is awarded to undergraduate students who are residents of Maryland's Kent, Queen Anne, Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, or Worcester counties and are attending an accredited dental hygiene program. Along with the application, applicants must submit an official transcript, three letters of recommendation, and a 200-word essay describing their personal character and interest in joining the dental profession.

6. Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarships

Each year, the Association of School Business Officials offer four Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarships for $1,000 each to deserving undergraduate students who are pursuing a career in business or education at an accredited institution of higher education in Maryland or the District of Columbia. 7. Ernestine Matthews Trust Scholarship Award

Deadline: March 15th

Funded by an educational trust by Ernestine Matthews, this award is granted to graduating high school seniors in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania who wish to further their education in college. Applicants for the $1,500 award must rank within the upper one-third of their graduating class, submit two letters of recommendation, maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and sign a statement that they will not use alcoholic beverages or tobacco products while receiving financial support.

8. Father Amos Gaudette Memorial College Scholarship

On an annual basis, the Father Amos Gaudette Memorial College Scholarship is granted to two Knights of Columbus current or deceased members, their wives, and children who are incoming freshmen at a post-secondary institution within the council jurisdiction in Maryland. 11. Heather Clair Miller Salisbury State University Fund

The Heather Clair Miller Salisbury State University Fund from the Pittsburgh Foundation provides four-year renewable scholarships to at least two female students annually who are attending Salisbury State University and are graduates from Bennett, Parkside, Wicomico, or Mardela High School in Wicomico County, Maryland. 12. Hood College Merit Scholarships

Each year, Hood College awards more than $6 million worth of Merit Scholarships for first-year students entering from high school and students transferring from other colleges. All incoming students are automatically considered for most of the merit-based scholarships, but priority will be given to those who completed their application prior to February 15th. 13. Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access (GA) Grant

Administered by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), the Howard P. Rawlings Guaranteed Access (GA) Grant is designed to help cover the total cost of full-time study at a Maryland college or university when combined with funding from the Federal Pell Grant and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). 14. Irving and Lois Blum Foundation Scholarship

At the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Irving and Lois Blum Foundation Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students from the Baltimore School for the Arts who are incoming freshmen and legal Maryland residents. 15. Last Dollar Grant

As a need-based award from the College Bound Foundation, the Last Dollar Grant is provided to Baltimore City public high school graduates whose expected family contribution and financial aid package total less than the cost of attending post-secondary education. With approximately 60 awards for up to $15,000 each given annually, eligible candidates must be accepted to attend a four-year institution in Maryland, attend the Transition to College Workshop, and contribute at least 15 percent of the college cost of attendance through "self-help."

16. Lucinda P. Wallace Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established to commemorate her good works and lifelong commitment to education, the Lucinda P. Wallace Memorial Scholarship Fund is offered by the Chester County Community Foundation to support the continuing education goals of active members of the Mt. 18. Maryland Dent-Care Loan Assistance Repayment Program

Deadline: August 31st

With the goal of increasing access to oral healthcare services for Maryland Medical Assistance Program (MMAP) recipients, the Maryland Dent-Care Loan Assistance Repayment Program (MDC-LARP) provides student loan repayment assistance up to $23,740 per year for practicing dentists who are treating Maryland's most vulnerable populations. Recipients of the financial support must serve three years of full-time eligible dental practice, treat a minimum of 30 percent MMAP recipients, and provide monthly reports to the Office of Oral Health.

19. Maryland Graduate Nurse Support Program II

Sponsored by the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC), the Maryland Graduate Nurse Support Program II provides scholarships for up to $25,000 each year to Maryland residents who are enrolled full-time or part-time at an accredited institution to earn a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. 21. Senatorial Scholarships
