1. AFSA Scholarship Program Internship

Each spring, the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) offers the Scholarship Program Internship to junior, senior, or graduate students with an interest in marketing, education, database administration, and research to manage the association's scholarship databases for up to 24 weeks. Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution, speak fluent English, showcase a strong work ethic, be computer literate in Word and Excel, and have working knowledge of the Netforum and Fluidreview databases. Interns will receive a decent salary with a $600 stipend for entering data into the AFSA's database and researching applicant submissions in Washington, DC.

2. BrainTrack Computer Science Scholarship

Deadline: November 1st and March 1st

As a worldwide college directory and scholarship database with more than 10,000 higher learning resources, BrainTrack has created the Computer Science Scholarship to award $500 to $1,000 to students advancing their careers in programming, software engineering, systems analysis, database management, network administration, and other computer fields. 4. DPMA/PC Scholarship Program

The Portland Chapter of the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA/PC) hosts an annual scholarship program to provide $1,000 to graduating high school seniors who are planning to attend an accredited higher learning institution with a major in data processing, database management, data science, or a related IT field. Applicants must reside in Oregon or Washington within Clark, Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington, Yamhill, Marion, or Columbia counties. Recipients who remain in an IT field of study and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 at an approved university in Oregon or Washington can renew for up to three years.

5. Eli Lilly and Company Scholarship

Within the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF), the Eli Lilly and Company Scholarship is granted annually for $5,000 to outstanding minority college students who are pursuing an IT-focused degree at an accredited four-year university for a career in data processing, database administration, network management, or a related profession. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have BDPA membership, carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and exhibit leadership ability in community service. 6. HIMSS Foundation Scholarships

In the amount of $5,000, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Foundation offers three scholarships annually to students who are pursuing an accredited degree in health informatics, computer science, information technology, business administration, mathematics, database management, or related fields for a career specifically in healthcare information management. Qualified students must be HIMSS members in good standing, attend an approved U.S. institution, and have at least first-semester junior standing. 7. Information Assurance Scholarship Program

Deadline: Varies

Funded by the Department of Defense (DoD), the Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP) is designed to provide a $17,000 stipend to undergraduates and $22,000 stipend to graduate students each academic year for concentrating their studies in information assurance or security. Qualifying students must be pursuing a degree in computer forensics, computer science, cryptography, systems analysis, database management, information security, risk management, software engineering, or web security at a participating U.S. institution. After obtaining a security clearance, recipients will be obligated to serve one year of full-time service to the DoD within an information security position.

8. INFORMS Data Analytics Scholarship Competition

Annually, the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) offers a Data Analytics Scholarship Competition to distribute up to $3,000 to talented young college students who produce a case study based on an assigned real-life project showing their outstanding data analysis skills. Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old, have U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, attend an accredited university full-time, and be pursuing a degree in data analytics, database management, management science, or a related field. 9. Johnson & Johnson Scholarships

Administered through the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA), the Johnson & Johnson Scholarships are granted for $1,000 to five graduating high school seniors and $2,500 to rising sophomore or junior undergraduate students each year. 12. Monsanto BDPA Scholarship Award

In collaboration with the Black Data Processing Associates, the Monsanto BDPA Scholarship Award is distributed for up to $2,500 annually for outstanding college students with an interest in achieving a four-year degree related to an information technology discipline, including database management or administration. Qualified applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents, have BDPA chapter membership, have at least one full year of undergraduate studies, attain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, and have unmet financial need. 13. Oracle Corporate Scholars Program

Deadline: April 4th

Through the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the Oracle Corporate Scholars Program is available to provide $10,000 to undergraduate college students who are majoring in accounting, business, computer science, computer engineering, finance, information management systems, database management, software development, or a related field. To qualify, candidates must be African American/Black, attend an accredited HBCU in the United States, carry a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, and have at least sophomore status. With funding from the multi-national computer technology giant, the Oracle Scholarship for Excellence in Computer Science is offered by the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) to award $8,000 to bright college students in the fields of computer science, computer engineering, user experience, software engineering, database management, network administration, information technology, and related areas. Recently created in 2015, the Remote DBA Scholarship will be awarded each year for $3,500 to outstanding college students who are pursuing studies in computer science or engineering with a clear interest in building a career within the database management or data science fields. Twice each year, the Rocky Mountain Oracle Users Group (RMOUG) provides the Stan Yellott Scholarship Fund to award up to $2,000 for future IT professionals broadening their knowledge with studies in computer science, information technology, network management, database administration, information security, computer engineering, or a related IT field. 18. The Sarder Scholarship Program

Named after the co-founder of NetCom Learning, Russell Sarder, the Sarder Scholarship Program is designed to provide $2,500 monthly to driven individuals who are beginning or advancing their IT career with public classes or live online classes at NetCom. Ranging in value from $1,000 to $10,000 apiece, the Xerox Technical Minority Scholarships are granted annually for students from ethnic minority groups who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical discipline, including information technology, computer science, software engineering, database management, printing management science, materials science, and electrical engineering.
